Ingredients

  • 750 vodka
  • 2 tsp hot sauce
  • 1 lb tomato
  • 1 3/4 lb cherry tomatoes
  • 3 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. If you want this to be serious you can make a tomato infused vodka to really bring out the flavor of the tomatoes. If you'd rather just use plain vodka skip the next two steps.
  2. Quarter your beefsteak tomatoes and place in a large and very clean glass jar. Pour the vodka (preferably 80 proof) over the tomatoes and seal the jar. Store in cool dark place for 3-5 days, giving the contents a shake every now and then.
  3. Pour the contents of the jar through a strainer into a bowl to remove any large pieces and then pour the liquid into a bottle. You now have tomato infused vodka.
  4. Put all your cherry tomatoes into a blender and add the hot sauce of your choice, lemon juice, worcestershire and salt. Place the lid on and blend on high for 1 minute 30 seconds.
  5. Add 1 1/2 ounces of your tomato vodka (or plain) and top off with the bloody mary mix from the blender. If you want it truly traditional, serve without garnishes.
