Quiche Lorraine

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 C swiss cheese
  • 4 green onions
  • 8 bacon
  • 1 pie crust
  • 1 C whipping cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/8 tsp white pepper
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Fit piecrust into a 9-inch pieplate. When oven is preheated, bake the empty pie crust for 7 minutes then remove from oven. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F.
  3. Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp, then drain on paper towels, and crumble to smaller bits. Sprinkle bacon, green onions, and 1 cup cheese into pie crust.
  4. Whisk together eggs, whipping cream, salt, red and white pepper and nutmeg. Pour egg mixture into crust, and sprinkle with remaining 1 cup cheese.
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until set. Let stand 10 minutes.
